KOMODO NATIONAL PARK
EXPLORE
Komodo National Park is a dream destination for nature lovers, adventure seekers, and anyone craving raw beauty and unforgettable experiences. Whether you're here for a day or staying longer, there's so much to see and do.
KOMODO ISLAND
Komodo Island is the heart of Komodo National Park and the most famous destination in the region — and for good reason. This is the natural habitat of the legendary Komodo Dragon, the largest living lizard on Earth. Nowhere else in the world can you witness these ancient reptiles roaming freely in the wild.
But Komodo Island offers more than just dragons. You can meet local villagers from Kampung Komodo, who have lived side by side with the dragons for generations. Some trekking paths lead to scenic hilltops where you can enjoy panoramic views of the island and the surrounding sea. In addition to Komodo Dragons, the island is home to rich biodiversity including monkeys, wild boar, snakes, and exotic birds.
PADAR ISLAND
Padar Island is one of the coolest spots to visit in Komodo National Park. It’s famous for its stunning viewpoint where you can see three different beaches—one with white sand, one black, and one pink! The hike to the top takes about 30–45 minutes, and while it’s a bit steep, the view is totally worth it. The island looks like something out of a movie, with rolling hills and bright blue bays all around.
Even though there aren’t any shops or hotels on Padar, that’s part of what makes it feel so special. You can relax on the beach, snap amazing photos, or go snorkeling in the clear waters nearby. Most people come on a boat trip from Labuan Bajo, and the best time to go is in the dry season when the weather is sunny and the sea is calm. If you’re into nature, hiking, or just want a killer view for your Instagram, Padar is a must-see!
PINK BEACH
Pink Beach is one of the most unique beaches in the world, and it's right here in Komodo National Park. The sand gets its soft pink color from tiny pieces of red coral mixed with white sand—it looks like something out of a dream. The water is crystal-clear and calm, perfect for a relaxing swim or just floating around while soaking up the sun.
It’s also a great spot for snorkeling, with colorful corals and tons of fish just a few meters from shore. You can chill on the beach, take stunning photos, or just enjoy the peaceful vibe. It's a favorite stop on island-hopping tours from Labuan Bajo, and once you see it in person, you'll understand why everyone falls in love with this place.
LONG BEACH
Long Beach lives up to its name with a wide stretch of powdery pinkish sand that seems to go on forever. It’s one of the quieter beaches in the area, making it perfect if you want to escape the crowds and just enjoy the natural beauty. The water is calm, warm, and super clear—ideal for a casual dip or sunbathing with an unbeatable view.
It’s also a nice place to stop for a beach picnic or drone shots thanks to its soft sand and turquoise water. Many tours include Long Beach as a quick, peaceful stop between more adventurous spots. Bring your sunscreen and your camera—you’ll want to remember how beautiful and peaceful it feels here.
TAKA MAKASSAR
Taka Makassar is a tiny sandbank in the middle of the sea—basically a small, white sandy island surrounded by clear blue water. When the tide is low, it shows off its perfect oval shape, and it’s one of the most photogenic places in Komodo. It’s perfect for just walking barefoot, snapping photos, and feeling like you're standing in the middle of nowhere.
The shallow waters around Taka Makassar are great for swimming and snorkeling, especially if you like seeing baby reef sharks and colorful fish. It’s usually a quick stop on boat tours, but it’s the kind of spot that makes you feel like you’ve stepped into a postcard.
MANTA POINT
Manta Point is one of the most exciting places to snorkel or dive in Komodo National Park. It’s where you have the chance to swim with giant manta rays—graceful, gentle creatures that can grow over 3 meters wide. Seeing them glide through the water is an unforgettable experience.
Even if you’re not lucky enough to catch them every time, the reef here is full of life and beauty. The currents can be strong, so it’s best with a guide or as part of a tour, but the thrill of spotting a manta ray makes it totally worth it!
GILI LAWA DARAT
Gili Lawa Darat is one of those places that will leave you speechless. Located in the northern part of Komodo National Park, this island is all about epic views and golden hills, especially during sunrise or sunset. The hike to the top takes around 30–40 minutes and while it’s a bit steep, once you reach the summit, you’ll be rewarded with a jaw-dropping view of turquoise bays, rolling hills, and passing boats—it’s pure magic.
There’s no beach life or buildings here—just nature at its best. It’s perfect for those who love hiking, photography, or just soaking in the raw beauty of the park. Gili Lawa Darat feels like a hidden paradise, especially if you arrive early and have the whole place to yourself. Definitely a must-visit if you're chasing those unforgettable Komodo moments.
RINCA ISLAND
Rinca Island is one of the best places to see Komodo dragons in their natural habitat. It’s a bit less visited than Komodo Island, so it feels quieter and wilder. A local ranger will guide you on a trek through dry savanna, mangroves, and forest, where you might spot not only dragons but also monkeys, water buffalo, and exotic birds.
The hike itself isn’t too hard and gives you a great view of the island and the surrounding sea. It’s a real adventure but still safe with the guides. If you’re into wildlife, Rinca is a must-visit—it’s raw, rugged, and full of amazing encounters.
KANAWA ISLAND
Kanawa Island is like a mini tropical paradise. The water here is unbelievably clear and perfect for swimming or snorkeling. The beach is quiet, and you can often see starfish and baby reef sharks right near the shore.
You can also hike up a small hill for a great view of the whole island. Kanawa is great for a full day of swimming, sunbathing, and relaxing, especially if you want that postcard-perfect tropical vibe.
SIABA ISLAND
Siaba Island is often called “Turtle City” because it’s one of the best places to snorkel with sea turtles. The water is shallow and calm, so it’s beginner-friendly and great for families. You’ll see turtles munching on seagrass or gliding peacefully along the reef.
Besides turtles, there’s plenty of coral and small fish to spot, and it’s a great place to relax in the water without too much effort. Siaba is a chill, nature-loving stop that’s always a favorite with animal lovers.
SEBAYUR ISLAND
Sebayur Island is the perfect blend of adventure and relaxation. It’s known for its beautiful beach, clear waters, and amazing coral reefs. Whether you want to snorkel, dive, kayak, or just hang out by the shore, Sebayur has a little bit of everything.
It’s also a great spot to stay overnight if you're doing a multi-day trip. Some tours even camp here or stay in eco-resorts. The sunsets are stunning, and the whole island has that quiet, peaceful vibe that makes you never want to leave.
ANGEL ISLAND
Angel Island (Pulau Bidadari) is a relaxing getaway with soft white sand and calm, shallow waters. It’s just a short boat ride from Labuan Bajo, making it a favorite for a half-day trip. The snorkeling here is fantastic with coral reefs right off the beach.
It’s a great place for couples, families, or anyone looking for a peaceful escape. There’s even a resort on the island if you want to stay longer and enjoy luxury in paradise.
KELOR ISLAND
Kelor Island is small but stunning. It has a short hiking trail that leads to a viewpoint overlooking the turquoise sea and nearby islands—great for sunrise or sunset photos. The hike only takes about 10–15 minutes, but the view from the top is truly breathtaking.
After the hike, you can cool off in the water or relax on the beach. Snorkeling is also good here, especially near the rocks. Kelor is often the first or last stop on a Komodo boat tour, and it’s a peaceful, beautiful way to start or end your day.
MENJERITE BEACH
Menjerite Beach is a hidden gem for snorkeling, just a short boat ride from Labuan Bajo. The water here is super clear, and there’s a long wooden jetty that leads out to the reef. Just jump in and you’ll find colorful coral gardens and loads of tropical fish.
It’s not a big beach, but it’s peaceful and easy to reach, making it a great first stop or quick snorkeling session. Perfect for travelers who want great underwater views without going too far from town.
STRAWBERRY ROCK
Strawberry Rock is a fun and unique little spot in Komodo National Park, named after its round, reddish-colored boulder that looks kind of like a strawberry. It’s surrounded by shallow waters that are great for snorkeling and exploring marine life. While it’s not as famous as the other islands, it’s definitely a cool hidden gem.
It’s usually a quick stop on a boat tour, perfect for jumping in the water, snapping a quirky photo, or just adding something a bit different to your day. Plus, it’s got that remote, untouched feel that makes it special.
KALONG ISLAND
Kalong Island is famous for one thing: thousands of flying foxes (giant fruit bats) that take off into the sky every evening at sunset. It’s a magical sight as the sky fills with dark shapes flying toward Flores to feed. The best way to see it is from a boat, drifting nearby as the sun goes down.
You won’t find beaches or activities on the island itself, but the bat show is unforgettable. It’s usually a short sunset stop, and a really cool way to end your day on the water.
SERAYA ISLAND
Seraya Island (or Seraya Kecil) is a peaceful escape just a short boat ride from Labuan Bajo. It’s known for its long stretch of white sand, chill atmosphere, and amazing snorkeling right off the beach. The water is calm and super clear, making it great for swimming or just floating and relaxing.
Many people come here to unwind, enjoy a beachside lunch, or even stay overnight at one of the small resorts. It’s perfect if you’re looking for a place to disconnect from everything and just enjoy the sun, sea, and stars.
BIRD ISLAND
Bird Island is a tiny, untouched island that gets its name from the birds that often rest and nest here. It’s quiet and wild, with soft white sand and crystal-clear water. Not many tours go here, so it feels super private and peaceful.
It’s a great stop for nature lovers, photographers, or anyone looking for a quiet escape. Snorkeling is possible too, and the views are amazing. It’s the kind of place you go when you want to feel far from everything and just enjoy nature.
SABOLO ISLAND
Sabolo Island is peaceful and less crowded, with a long sandy beach and shallow waters that are great for beginners or kids to snorkel in. It’s close to Labuan Bajo, so it’s an easy and quiet stop on your tour.
What makes Sabolo special is its coral reef, which is teeming with life. You’ll find plenty of fish, bright corals, and maybe even turtles if you’re lucky. It’s a calm, quiet spot that feels a bit off the beaten path.
